About Soldier Field

Soldier Field seats 62,500 for Chicago Bears games, one of the smallest capacities in the NFL, on the lakefront just south of the Loop. The 1924 colonnades survive around a seating bowl rebuilt inside them in 2003, which is why the 400 level grandstand fills only the open north end in sections 427-447. The United Club spans the east side across sections 202-216 and 301-317. The Bears bench sits in front of sections 134-140. Why does Soldier Field only have a 400 level at one end?

The 2003 rebuild dropped a modern bowl inside the 1924 colonnades. The steep 400 level grandstand, sections 427-447, was built into the open north end where the historic structure allowed the extra height.
