Rice-Eccles Stadium seats 51,444 for Utah football, up from 45,807 after the Ken Garff Red Zone expansion enclosed the south end zone in August 2021, adding suites, loge boxes, ledge seating and club seating along with more bleacher rows. The stadium has 25 executive suites and hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics opening and closing ceremonies, whose cauldron still stands above the north end. Standing-room bleachers were added along the east, west and north sections in 2014 to handle overflow crowds beyond the fixed-seat capacity.
